Footnotes: Supported By WordPress?

  I am interested in WordPress as a publishing platform, but I cannot find support for footnotes. For an example of the footnote functionality I want, please see:

  Am I overlooking some support for footnotes in WordPress publications? Please advise?

  Footnote is just text and local/external links.

  You can add them at the end of your page/post.

  I would value a system that automatically numbers the footnotes and creates the links. So, for example, if I reorder paragraphs, the system would reorder and renumber the footnotes to keep them sequential.

  That automation is what I’m accustomed to in Google Docs. I’ve found a WordPress plug-in that adds the functionality I’d like:

  Simple Footnotes

  but I can’t find any such support on WordPress.com?

  This is my final attempt to find WordPress.com support for footnotes. I’ll check back here, but in the meantime I’ll be investigating with Blogger or other platforms provide the functionality I need.

  No, there is no such functionality here. If you do a search of the forum you will find that there are several workarounds, but none automated.
