    I have 3 sites:
    snowdoniabackpacking.wordpress.com
    rookematthews.wordpress.com
    1962beatnik.wordpress.com
I am locked out of them ‘for security reasons’. ‘Get a login link’ does not work, I am still locked out.
I created the sites many years ago so I’m no longer sure of the passwords I signed up with. But I do have a number of emails from WordPress to the sites’ email addresses going back to 2013.
I am 82 next month and the feeling of helplessness is causing me a lot od distress.

    WP.com: Yes
    Jetpack: No
    Correct account: Yes

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

    Hi,

In order to regain access to the accounts that manage those sites, please use the account recovery form: https://wordpress.com/wp-login.php?action=recovery

Firstly, a belated thank you for your responses. I thought I would be notified of any replies but I haven’t received anything.

I have tried “Recover Your Account” before, but I do not have any of the documentation required. I don’t have a transaction ID as my sites were free, I still have the Welcome emails but they don’t have activation URLs, only the URL of the email, and I certainly don’t have any 2FA codes.

It is never a good idea to create multiple accounts. Just having one account (with more than one site if you need to) is the way to go. And writing down your username and password means you wouldn’t be facing this problem.

    The account

that you are now using was only created recently so is probably a hinderance rather than a help and won’t be associated with your old sites.

At the start of this thread you were using the account rookematthews which was created 8 years ago. Are you positive there isn’t a site you can reach using that account??

You have another account by the name of fernman created 10 years ago. If you could log out from here and log back in with the username fernman and the password for that account you’d be in business. The password recovery form using that username would send an email to the email address associated with that account/site so I’d try that if I were you.

Your yet another account username is simply the same as the name of your site

I wouldn’t advise clicking on the spam link above.

UPDATE: I have been able to log in to rookematthews.wordpress.com, using a password reset, though it is not clear if I could do any editing on it if I want. However, that is unimportant as I don’t want to change it. The site I badly want to administrate is snowdoniabackpacking.wordpress.com, and I do not receive a password reset link for it. As I started that site so many years ago the link is probably going to a deleted address. I’ve been using my current email provider for nearly 13 years now, with 3 aliases whose mail is forwarded to the primary one.

Summary: I’ve given up, very disappointed. Thank you for your time and inpuut.
