This makes 5 threads of yours I have answered. I can see what you do not see. I’m using Firefox 23. Try clearing your browser cache and cookies. http://www.google.com/support/accounts/bin/answer.py?hl=en&answer=32050

You assume something is wrong at this end of things but I don’t. That’s because I see can what you can’t see and that means you have a browser related issue.
1. If you are not running one of the browsers and versions listed at http://browsehappy.com/ please try upgrading or switching first.
2. If you are using an IE browser in compatibility mode please disable that mode. http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/1196-internet-explorer-compatibility-view-turn-off.html
3. If you are running one of the browsers and versions listed at http://browsehappy.com/
(a) Try clearing your browser’s cache http://www.google.com/support/accounts/bin/answer.py?hl=en&answer=32050
If applicable see here for instructions on how to clear the cache for Chrome and Safari on the iPad:
http://browsers.about.com/od/howtousemobilebrowser1/ss/safari-ipad-clear-cache.htm
(b) Make sure that you have both third-party cookies enabled and JavaScript enabled
http://www.google.com/adsense/support/bin/answer.py?answer=12654
(c) Disable all browser extensions or add-ons temporarily.
(d) Try enabling HTTPS: http://en.support.wordpress.com/https/
Add both *.wordpress.com and *.wp.com to your list of trusted sites under the Security tab. Make sure to uncheck the box for “Require server verification (https:) for all sites in this zone.” http://en.support.wordpress.com/https/#frequently-asked-questions
4. Try using another browser.
5. If you are not successful let us know:
(a) Exactly what kind of device you are using to connect to the internet and to WordPress.com.
(b) Exactly which browser (and version of it) you’re using by checking here if necessary http://www.whatbrowser.org/
(c) And what any error reports you receive state. -
Thanks for your help, but I have tried all the above and am now looking at my blog sail3oceans and it is a mess, I had 4 thumbs alongside each other and now one has dropped. Has WordPress reduced the size of the page??? I still hover on the pics. but don’t get the name or number, this I can see at the bottom of the page now!!
edited by tess to make clear that the site with the problem is http://sail3oceans.wordpress.com and not the site linked to in the original post. See this thread:
https://en.forums.wordpress.com/topic/page-seems-reduced-in-size?replies=2#post-1447346 -
MANY people are having image problems today. So far, not a word from support. It is very frustrating on our end, so it would be helpful if the mods here were not so defensive and angry all the time.

Staff is looking into this issue. See this thread for updates:

I posted a quick explanation of changes and some possible short term solutions at https://en.forums.wordpress.com/topic/photos-have-become-small-and-off-centered?replies=18#post-1448135

I see many people have this problem, just hope they can fix it, also I still don’t see the name or number of the image when I hover on the pic. with the mouse, this has been like that for a while now, anyone else also have this
-
@sailon2oceans – did you see the reply posted by Staff just above your last one? There are under the hood changes going on and you will want to read the thread/reply posted at that link.

[1tess: Staff is looking into this issue.]
Would this be why I’m getting the error:This page is not accessible via this method. Please visit a gallery first.
every time I try to preview a change or open my website?

@3rdiphoto
It sounds like your issue is unrelated to the problem in this thread, and unrelated to the problems others are having with image sizes. Please start your own thread, provide a link to your blog, and if it is clearly apparent on a post then link to that post. Provide some details: are you inserting images separately, or if it is a problem with a gallery provide a link to that gallery.
Staff “looking into an issue” would not cause problems. If the various technical people are experimenting with changes to WordPress.com, then some things they are working on may make things on your site look different from what you expect.
Please start a new thread, as I said above.

Thanks! That makes it much more efficient to take a look at the issue. I don’t know, but probably another volunteer will. If not, then staff will have some details to investigate.

@3rdiphoto, this message doesn’t sound like something from WordPress.com to me:
This page is not accessible via this method. Please visit a gallery first.
You probably need to contact either the theme author or maybe ask your web host as they might be able to help you pinpoint where the message is coming from so you can ask about it in the right place.

Hi 1Tess You asked whether I have changed my theme – well No I haven’t. I am looking at sail3oceans/Panama 2013 blog. I had 4 thumbs alongside each other and now one has dropped down. My blog has been great for years now, this only happened about a week ago, as up till then it was 4 thumbs alongside and all looked good, now all the pages and posts are a mess. And I still can’t see the name and number when I hover on the photo.

@sailon2oceans, can you reply with a link where you’re seeing that problem happen?
-
-
I think the op means this site:
http://sail3oceans.wordpress.com/2013/01/23/2013-panama/In that case, they should go to Settings > Media and try updating the thumbnail size from 150 x 150 to 110 x 110.
-
I changed the first 4 thumbs to 110 and now they seem so small. What I used to do was just download a pic as thumb and adjust it in the corners so all 4 would fit, and this has worked for a long time now. Are you saying I have to go through all my blogs and change the size again, and may I ask why this has happened, and also why I can’t see the name and number when I hover on the pic, as this also used to be fine, about 1 to 2 weeks ago. Thanks for your replies
