  For the past few days, I get some “likes” (and in one case a “follower”) in the early hours after 12:00 am but no hits register until much later in the day. Also a couple of these are from countries (Nigeria, Israel) that never show up in my countries map. Is this normal?

  It can be. People reading your blog through the “WordPress Reader” can Reblog, Follow and Like your posts without ever showing up on your blog. Because, really, who needs traffic on our blogs?

  It’d be a good idea to set your RSS feed to ‘summary’:

  Dashboard > Settings > Reading > For each article in a feed, show > Summary x

  I can’t speak to countries not showing up on the map, but I’m in Canada and my first dedicated readers were in the UK and India because I was posting so early (my time) in the morning.
