Force threads to a Catagory

  Hi all, is it possible, to for threads to go to separate categories, so they only show up when you select that category ? For example, if I set up a Sales Category on my blog, and I post “items for sale” how can I get them to show up only in that category and not on the front page ?.

  This question has come up repeatedly. As a general rule, all posts – regardless of category – go to the posting page of your blog. About the only way you can avoid that is by having a static front page with links to your categories pages.

  Ok, thanks for the response. It seems if it is asked for so often, would it be worth thinking off it as an option ????

  Richard, it DOES exist as an option, and Vivian told you the way: if you set a suitable static page as your front (in Settings > Reading), visitors will only be able to access posts via categories.
