forcing a line break in a link.

    Hi,

Am using the black letterhead theme and would like to force a line break in the middle of the link name field on the Edit Links screen.

The idea would be to have the link display as

    Link Text
    (Updated 1/1/10)

    Or some such.
doesn’t work (just prints the text). Padding with spaces doesn’t work (just strips them out). Ascii for non breaking spaces doesn’t work either with Alt key or pasting from word doc (again just stripped out).

Is there some other approach or workaround I’m missing?

    Thanks!

So the answer is to not do this through the links editor, but through the text widget. You have to write the html to make it happen but it’s not that bad. If you’re a novice create the link, view your page and then have your browser show you the source, find the link in question and cut and paste from the <a href=" to the </a>, paste that into the text widget and then throw in a <br /> in the text where you want the break.
