Forcing me to choose a Facebook account I don't want to use.

Hi there, I have two Facebook accounts: Let’s call them RYR and SMT. I’m trying to set up my blog to Share to RYR, but it seems to want to force me to Connect with SMT. I’ve logged into my Facebook account RYR account but I get the message:
“To continue, you’ll need to switch from using Facebook as RYR to using Facebook as SMT.”
But I don’t want to Share my blog to SMT, I only want to Share it to RYR.

    Thank you for your help!

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

    Hi there!

Sounds like you need to go into your ‘SMT’ facebook account and delete the WordPress facebook helper.

Login to ‘SMT’ on Facebook, then follow steps #1-4 under “Reconnecting Facebook” here:

    https://en.support.wordpress.com/publicize/#reconnecting-services

After that, log out of SMT and log in to RYR on Facebook. Next, visit your sharing settings:

    https://wordpress.com/sharing

And create a new Facebook connection to RYR.

Let me know if you hit any snags. :)

Thank you Alex! I fumbled through it but made progress…WP is at least recognizing my RYR Facebook page now, and I do have the option to Reconnect but when I click Reconnect I get the message…”To continue, you’ll need to switch from using Facebook as RYR to using Facebook as SMT.” Which I don’t want to do. I did remove the WP app from my SMT page as instructed. Any thoughts on this?

Thank you for your help. I’m very new at this!

Is one of these a Page (like a business/etc) and one of them a personal profile?

If SMT is the personal profile and RYR is a page, what you need to do is connect to Facebook as SMT, then you’ll receive an option that looks like this:

This will let you publish only to the Page and not the profile.

It’s just a technical requirement. Facebook doesn’t let 3rd parties connect to page-only logins. To Publicize to a page, you have to connect to the profile of the page’s admin and then select the page. Seems a little weird, but no reader will know that the page is connected to that profile.

    That worked!
And yes, RYR is a page and the other a personal profile. Thanks so much Alex.
