Forcing out of classic editor?

    I am a basic user who is familiar with and intend to keep using the classic editor. I woke up this morning to see that WordPress, without warning, had chosen to make this unavailable. After some hours, I was able to reset the system to get classic editor back to create new posts, but all drafts and old posts do not have the option. When I ask to edit them, they show up in what looks like black edit with most of the content and all of the images missing. How do I get classic editor back on existing posts and drafts?

    Is there anyone at WordPress who can help with this? Without warning, I have no access to edit 15 years of content, and I would hope someone could assist. I had posted this 4 days ago and have had no response.
