foreign language site with no link tool

  Hi my girlfreind is blogging on wordpress in japanese but when she goes to write a post there are no buttons to link, split the page, change paagraph styles etc only upload pictures, video etc. Any suggestions? seems its a bit pointless to blog if you cant link to other sites in your post. thanks in advance

  Is it possible she is in the html view rather than the Visual Editor? The tabs are side by side next to the buttons for uploading files.
