Forever: tagline

  • Unknown's avatar

    “The tagline for your wedding blog appears only on your home page. You can change it from your dashboard at Settings → General.”
    I got all excited, thinking this meant I could have my tagline on every page by going to Settings.
    Wrong.
    So: is there any CSS route to ensuring my site description/tagline shows up on all Pages, please, someone?

    The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

    “You can change it” means you can change the text, not where it shows.
    But since you have the upgrade you can create your own ‘artificial’ tagline and make it show on any page you please. You can even remove the original tagline and place your substitute where you please, for instance below the title instead of below the menu. What would you prefer?

    <sob!> I’ve just watched the season final of my favourite TV show of all – and I don’t know if they plan to make any more! wooouuuaaAAAHH!
    Now, where were we …?
    Yesyes, I know that’s what it means: didn’t I say as much? Oh; no, I didn’t.
    Well, I knew. :-)
    What I’d like, please, Panos, is simply to have all Pages’ headers look exactly the same as the blog’s.
    OTY, CleverClogs …

    Try this:

    #main:before {
    color: #37569E;
    content: "ENTER TAGLINE HERE";
    display: block;
    font-family: tekton-pro-1,tekton-pro-2,'Raleway',"Helvetica Neue",Arial,Helvetica,"Nimbus Sans L",sans-serif;
    font-size: 35px;
    line-height: 1.17;
    border-bottom: 3px double #EEEEEE;
    margin-bottom: 2.4225em;
    padding-bottom: 2em;
    text-align: center;
    }
    .home #main:before {
    display: none;
    }

    (If I have overlooked something, we’ll see after you add the above.)

    You have overlooked NOZZINK! – eet ees only poifick! :-)
    Tickled pink, I am, Panos – and full of gratitude!
    You must stay there, making your brain available to we dickheads forever, OK?
    Thank you a thousand times …

  • Unknown's avatar

    Sorry, Panos – something I overlooked!
    The code to reduce the space under the site-description on all the Pages to make it exactly the same as it is on the blog …?

  • Unknown's avatar

    Turn this:
    margin-bottom: 2.4225em;
    to
    margin-bottom: 40px;
    and add this:

    #description {
    margin-bottom: 40px;
    }

    As for the (playful but nevertheless) demeaning stuff, perhaps you should read the intro to this guide of mine:

    ‘Tis done! – and dusted. And works. Of course. :-)
    Yer a clever feller, Panos, and a kind one; and I offer my eternal gratitude.
    As for your html intro, I shall read it with application and concentration. Dunno if it’ll sink in, but we’ll see, eh?

    Sorry, you misunderstood: I meant read the foreword – the paragraph that refers to my own start.

  • Unknown's avatar

    I get it. And also the fact that I scanned your words too quickly and didn’t grasp what should’ve been obvious.
    I take that very happily, your reference to your own first steps into the … ahh … minefield – and very gratefully!
