Forever theme a lot different in use than in demo

    Hi there,

Im using the Forever theme on my site and i really need to make some justifications. At first in the demo i noticed that when you have several header pictures it has the option to click on the little globules below for a different picture.. I cant find that option in this theme..

Then the second thing i just cant change is the columns i have. I would want to make the 4 (its only showing 3, because somehow it just doesnt do 4, which seems to work fine in the demo as well) columns with text permanent. So that would mean i add 4 columns there and my blog just continues with the new posts below, as older topics are showed now..

Anyone who could help me out with this. These are the 2 main things im struggling with, the rest seems to work ok for me. Thanks in advance.

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Please consult the detailed theme description at this link http://theme.wordpress.com/themes/forever/ for set up instructions.

To show only your four latest posts (with a Featured Image above each one, of course) in a neat grid on your home page just visit Appearance → Theme Options and click the checkbox there. The four latest posts are you four most recently published posts so they will change when you publish new posts.

Also go here > Settings > Reading and confirm that the number of posts you have set to display on your front page is a high enough number to account for the items the 4 column display.

Hi there, that was already helpful. The 4 column display problem was indeed due to the fact it was set on 3.

Now that is left for me is the few globules below the headerpictures. I have multiple pictures assigned, though it only switches when i go to a different page or hit f5.

I guess i have to visit the CSS section for a permanent change on those columns, making certain posts stay there in eternity instead being moved by new posts.

You cannot use CSS editing to alter the way any theme is designed to function. Please read “Does the Custom Design upgrade let me edit HTML?” here please http://en.support.wordpress.com/custom-design/#frequently-asked-questions

@sbinterieurdesign I think the problem is the images at the top of the forever theme demo look like header images but they aren’t. They are featured images from posts. If you assign featured images to your posts and then make the ones you want to show up in the slider “sticky” your site will look the way you were hoping for.

The reason you only have 3 posts showing in the row below the header is that you only have 3 posts set as sticky posts. If you set a 4th as a sticky post, 4 will show up with the other 3.

As @lizthefair says, if you want the slider to be enabled at the top, instead of the static header image, those posts will have to have a featured image set. As it states in the Forever Theme Showcase page, you can set up to 10 posts as sticky posts with featured images.
