Forever Theme Issues: How to?
-
I’m baffled. Right when I think I’m almost done with my customizing I run into another issue.
Here they are, I hope someone can help a girl out (please don’t mind the photos, they are there just to test the page)
a)I’m looking at examples of other forever theme pages and they are able to have four columns where they have a small thumbnail photo AND an excerpt of the text -I can’t even find the PLACE where I can do this. where can I do this and how?
b) How can I also place posts on the front page?
c) Once clicked into a category (in my case the “Style” category) from the menu, it opens up to just the featured image in a box. How can you just have it go directly to show all the posts – opened (in my case photos), instead of just these little featured cropped images with titles?
d) If “question c” isn’t possible…how can I remove those gray lines boxed around those little featured images with titles?
e) How do I remove the title and the black box its in from my slider?
Thanks ahead of time. Sorry if the ALL questions seem lame or obvious.
My blog is a forever theme and http://www.vonzwei.comThe blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Hi there, I would suggest taking a look at the Forever Showcase page under “A Dramatic Personalized Home Page”. It has some useful information on the home page features of Forever.
a & b) You have only 4 posts, and they are assigned as “sticky” posts, so they are appearing in your slider at the top. If you create and publish more posts, with featured images that are not set as “sticky” posts, up to 4 of those will show in 4 columns below the slider. Additional older posts, which are not set to sticky will then show below those 4 in a single column with a sidebar on the right. Posts set to sticky, which appear in the top slider, will not show up in the 4 featured posts or in the posts below those.
c & d) On http://vonzwei.com/category/style/ I’m seeing full-width images.
If you need this in the future, here is the code to remove the border from the thumbnails on categories pages, add the following CSS.
.entry-thumb img { border: none; }e) Add the following CSS to remove the title and dark box from the slider.
.feature-title a { display: none; } -

Oh, no. I have another issue with my forever theme.
This is in reference with the 4 columns.I went to Appearance – Theme options – Check box that says to separate latest 4 post into 4 columns.
But it continues to post all my post one under each other.
I just want the Slider and 4 columns and nothing else on my front page! Any advice how I can get my posts into the 4 columns?!?!! AND stop the other posts from showing up on the front page?
After this my blog will be finally ready to go…….can you please help me again?

You are setting your posts as “image” post format. Image post format will not show in the top 4 latest posts columns. Set the posts as “Standard” posts and they will show up at in the 4 columns.

OMG Thanks, but now my column titles are too big and smash into each other!!! It’s one thing after another!!!
So sorry, but now I need help with those column titles……….

I answered the column titles question at https://en.forums.wordpress.com/topic/column-title-size-on-forever-theme

Hello, I am hoping you can help me with this issues as well. I have set a standard post as “sticky” and also set a featured photo, however the post continues to show up in one of the four columns and not as the top slideshow – Do you know what the problem could be?
Thanks in advance
-
@maharobed, I see several posts in your top slider right now, did you get this issue resolved?
-
Hello, Yes I was – thank you!
But I am now wondering how to change the formatting of the grey titles that appear on each slide. Do you know how I can widen them?

Hey there,
I have the forever theme as well and for some reason my sticky posts do not show up on my front page. The sample posts that I have tried to get set up only show up as a normal post page with each post going on top of one another as opposed to the slider. Is there anyone who can help me out with this?
I know that you are supposed to make the post sticky and attach a featured image but for some reason nothing is showing up like it is supposed to.

I think I can answer this one! Your photos have to be larger than 888px wide. Your best best is to load a featured photo at the width of 888px and the length of 333px. Once you loaded it go to Visibility – edit – and make the post sticky.

Oh my gosh, thank you so much. I was starting to get so frustrated with the darn thing. Now I know that the image size needs to be correct. It is working now with a test post and I can’t wait to get started!
Thanks!
