Forever Theme: lines around social media boxes, changes to tagline
-
Hi, I am customizing the Forever Theme, and have run into a few glitches and can’t find the answers on the forum or internet thus far. Hoping you can chime in and help or point me in the right direction…
the blog is: barenakedwellness.com.
I used CSS coding to add a tagline in below the header image and above the menu (since it seemed the regular tagline would only go below the menu), but now I can’t get the CSS coding right to make it the font I want, which would match my headline font: FF Market. This is the code I currently have:
#masthead .custom-header:after {
content: “Health and wellness, simplified and stripped down.”;
color: black;
font: ff market;
font-size: 150%;
font-style: italic;what am i doing wrong? I’m horrible at CSS!
also, is it possible to remove the lines around the images in my text widget? It’s the first widget on the right sidebar with the social media icons.
Thanks for any advice!
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Hi there – you needed to add the correct font-family property:
font-family: ff-market-web,'Raleway',"Helvetica Neue",Arial,Helvetica,"Nimbus Sans L",sans-serif;I added it for you – does your tagline look correct now?
also, is it possible to remove the lines around the images in my text widget? It’s the first widget on the right sidebar with the social media icons.
Try the following:
#secondary .widget img { border: none; }Let me know how that works!

so about every other time i load the page now the tagline comes up in Raleway instead of FF Market. I want it displayed in FF Market, not Raleway. How do I adjust CSS code to make it do that?
The weird thing is in custom design, it shows up correctly (in FF Market), but when I load it in a separate webpage, it doesn’t. The headers all load in FF Market every time, so I know there’s a way for the page to consistently load with FF Market font. Any insight?

Hi there – Darn! So, the problem here is that this isn’t actually a tagline since you are using that :after property. I can’t figure out how to get the font choice to stay, and a better option here would be to add the title and tagline to your actual header image using your image editing software. Then, you can use whatever font and positioning you want and it won’t shift around.
Then, just upload that image as your header, and deselect “Show header text with your image” in Appearance->Header so it doesn’t show up twice. Let me know how that works for you!
If you don’t want to do it that way, you might ask for advice in the CSS Customization forum.

okay, thanks. I actually don’t have a good image editing software… only lightroom for pictures, but I don’t think I can work with graphics in lightroom. do you know?
if i take the tagline out as a :after property and use the actual “tagline”, can I code it to be above the menu and in the FF Market font?
thanks for the help.

I actually did this and it worked. now i just want to add some white space buffering above and below tagline and delete some white space around blog title. if you can help me understand the coding for that, much appreciated. thanks.

I have another question. i switched from the Manifest theme to Forever theme last week. I’m now realizing that a TON of pictures from a previous post are not uploading and have just disappeared from the text. AH!!! Do I really have to reinsert all of those pictures or is there a way I can just restore the version to an older one somehow?
And how do I get the tagline to appear on all posts and pages on the blog, not just the title one?
Thanks.

Where do you exactly encounter this issue?

Do you mean the tagline in the header of your blog? I already see this on each page or post page of your blog. Could you explain this a bit more detail please?
Thank you!

apologies – i did some more work between the last post and your response. I just reinserted the pictures. It was in one post only “sap som bun” – there were about 15 pictures missing after I switched themes. i’m sure just a glitch in the system, but they weren’t even in my photo library any more. it says i still have plenty of room in my image library. that’s correct, right? there isn’t some weird rule with the forever theme that limits number of images or something, is there?
I remade the header as you suggested to include the title tagline and picture in one image. it’s working well on each page. thanks for the advice.
the only thing that is still happening is that sometimes when i load the blog my headers come up in Raleway font (the original font) rather than my customized FF Market font. Any insight on why this might be happening and if there is a way to make sure it opens as FF Market font each time?

No there isn’t. Could you send a link of that sap som bun post? I can’t seem to find it.

Can you please try clearing out your browser cache?
