A couple of years ago I grabbed a domain for a blog I intended to start; things got in the way of me ever launching it but now I’m ready. The domain is whattastesgood.wordpress.com. I already had/have a WordPress account but for whatever reason must have created a second one for this project. I have no idea what username or email address I used for it — everything I try comes up wrong.

I think I need staff help on this one. Can you reset the administration of that blog or somehow transfer it over to my active account?

    Thank you.

    Hello there,
Blogs at WordPress.com are the property of the users who register them. The ownership can be transferred to another user, but that transfer needs to be done or requested by the current owner. The e-mail address registered with the WordPress.com sername account is the unique identifier, as is the API key.

Please see what Staff (macmanx) said here:

We’ll need you to prove ownership of the account before we can take any account, and the only things that we can accept for that would be either an email from the email address the account is registered to or confirmation of the account’s API key. https://en.forums.wordpress.com/topic/email-address-doesnt-exist-any-more?replies=12#post-856721

The email address which owns the blog is lac[…] (at) gmail.com

Do you have access to an email address like that?

Aha! timethief, thanks for your helpful links. macmanx, yes, I remember setting up a new email account specifically for the blog, in French (my second language), but naturally, now I can’t remember what it was…! Bah. I suppose there’s no way you could tell me the full address? I’m certain I could login — I do much better remembering passwords than rarely/never-used emails and usernames!

No, I can’t reveal the full email address, as that could easily be spoofed.

The first three letters are “lac” and it’s Gmail address.

In cases like this, I usually recommend sleeping on it, as you might remember in the morning.
