Have a bit of a complex issue,
I Have mixed up the password for my main blog (https://saghbini.wordpress.com) but when I send a reset password request to get on my gmail I get the reset for a backup blog I set up with the same email a few years ago.
My main blog was started with hotmail in 2008 but switched the email to my gmail later in the settings, could this be the reason why I’m not getting the reset email for it? Or because my gmail is associated with another blog?

I have sent a recovery request as well but I don’t have the authentication code (it was on hotmail) , I never got a paid plan, and I don’t have the app , so it seems dire, but my main blog has my personal photos and my gmail on my contact me and about me page (and I can provide the credentials that I’m me lol) but I’m not sure if this is counted as a proof of ownership according to wordpress guidelines.

Have been blogging on this blog since september 2008 and really appreciate any help, i’m in panic mode here.

    Hi there,

Two WordPress.com accounts cannot be connected to the same email address. The password reset links you’ve been receiving at your Gmail address are for this account, hibatia, that you’re using to post here.

The account that owns https://saghbini.wordpress.com/ is associated with a completely different email address, not Gmail. I can see several password reset requests for that account as well, but the emails are bouncing with an error that the mailbox does not exist, so it would appear that account’s email address has since been deleted.

If you’re not able to provide any of the other forms of verification required by the account recovery form, we won’t be able to give you access to this site. We don’t make any exceptions in this regard.

    Hi Kokkieh,

Thanks a lot for your answer, I’m aware that there has been an email error and this is why I’m here. The gmail in question should be at least a secondary email in the settings of https://saghbini.wordpress.com/
I’m still not sure what happened as I never had problems logging in before.

In addition to this, the contact me page on my blog has my gmail (on which I was expecting to receive the reset password) and I can prove ownership of this gmail
    https://saghbini.wordpress.com/%d8%a7%d9%84%d8%a7%d8%aa%d8%b5%d8%a7%d9%84-%d8%a8%d9%8a/

And my about me page has my personal photo (that I can provide any number of requested IDs to prove that it’s me if needed)
    https://saghbini.wordpress.com/about/

Both pages haven’t been edited in years. I blog with my real name as well on the same blog since September 2008 and can provide as many references as needed that I own the blog including IDs, login IPs and all that , so saying that there won’t be exceptions to hand me back my own blog of 9 years because what I have doesn’t tick a pre-defined checklist is ridiculous.

Sorry but this is a completely inadequate and unacceptable response and I hope that you understand my frustration and consider what can be done to recover it.

    Thanks

    Hi there Hibatia,

I am very sorry to hear about your issue.

Had you thought about trying to re-activate your old Hotmail account? I have heard that people are sometimes able to either reactivate old accounts, or create a new account with the same name.

A relevant thread on someone doing this is here:
    Reactivate an old Hotmail account

It might be worth a try if you aren’t able to recover your account via the Account Recovery form.

Thanks a lot kmk3s , that actually worked.
the Hotmail was deleted for inactivity long ago but creating one with the same old name worked. I am very very grateful for your comment, you made my day!
