Forgot WordPress knowhow

  I have not stayed up to date on WordPress. My blog is ocngirl; (email visible only to moderators and staff)
  I need to up date it or start over and I am so lost. I dont want just links to stories to show up, I also
  would like the pictures to show along with the link. I have great responses on the old one. How do I start over n do I need to download a free updated version of WordPress? I have a website I need to get out to the public.
