Forgotten password

  I know someone who has forgotten their password. Unfortunately he took over the blog from someone else and therefore does not have all the information to be able to get the password reset. Does anyone have any ideas on how to help. Have tried to contact WordPress with no luck.

  The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

  Every one of us has our own login information regardless of how many blogs we have been made an official user of. Your friend has to recover their username account.

  When we have lost our log-in information we can visit https://en.wordpress.com/wp-login.php?action=lostpassword

  If required we can complete the form for account recovery at this link https://en.wordpress.com/wp-login.php?action=recovery and submit it to the Account Recovery Staff so they can contact you by email ie. not on these public support forums which are available to everyone with internet access.

  Have tried to contact WordPress with no luck.

  If you friend has already contacted Staff by email then posting here is counter productive. Staff work through all email support tickets in order of datestamps and timestamps – first posted first served, as would be expected. The same approach when support threads are tagged for their attention. Asking for support via email and later creating a forum thread and/or emailing for support more than once means the datestamps and timestamps move forward and it takes longer to get help.

  Thank you for getting back to me. My friend hasn’t contacted support direct yet as he hasn’t found an email address to use. He has tried https://en.wordpress.com/wp-login.php?action=recovery link but unfortunately doesn’t have any of the information this link requires re proof of ownership as nothing was passed on to him.
  Thank you anyway for the information.

  Hi there,

  Unfortunately, if the user does not have any of the information on the Account Recovery form it wouldn’t be possible to take over the account. Please have your friend contact the original owner and have that person pass on information to recover the account.
