Form did not generate an email

Hi, a user on the site rmdservice.com used an entry form on http://rmdservice.com/igg-remcowg-contact-distribution-lists/ and the details did not reach the destination email address. To test it out we put the same details in again at a location which we had verified was generating emails and the email still did not arrive at the destination (email visible only to moderators and staff)
A theory would be that the email has been blocked by the WordPress filters so as to prevent spam but the contents are pretty innocuous. The of the screen generated at the time of creation of the request is available at a page I created at http://rmdservice.com/unreceived-email-image/ if you want to look at it.

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

    Hi there,

It does appear you have four messages from the same person, but two IP addresses, through that entry form but in your spam folder. You can check all feedback from Contact Forms marked as spam here:

    https://rmdsie.wordpress.com/wp-admin/edit.php?post_status=spam&post_type=feedback

If those are the messages you were expecting, I’d recommend hovering over the message and click on “Not Spam” so that the spam filtering tool can learn that these messages were acceptable.

Please let me know if those four messages were or were not the ones you’re referring to.

    Best,

    -Alex G.

Thanks a lot Alex, do you have any idea why the content of the message would have been classed as spam, would the email address containing ‘prepaypower’ have been the cause?
    Thanks,
    John

    Hi John,

That would seem to be the case, since your contact form doesn’t leave much room to put in more decidedly spammy content.

Everything that goes through a WordPress.com contact form gets filtered through the same spam filter that handles comments, Akismet. It’s compiling information on spam at a global level attempting to block out spam from its origins, it’s not just local to the submissions on your blog.

So if a spammer was identified with a phrase like “prepaypower” in a completely different context it can affect the moderation of feedback on your site.

Since you’ve marked those comments as Not Spam, this will help Akismet learn that whatever it thought made that feedback spam may not be a reliable source of information, or at least not from that IP address or user email.

    Best,

    -Alex G.
