If you have the Custom Design upgrade, then yes, you can change the theme’s line spacing.

Change the line spacing of what exactly?
If you’re talking about the content of your widgets, it can be done only if you have the upgrade. If you’re talking about the content of your posts, you can also change it without the upgrade. The difference is that the upgrade allows you to change the l.s. once for all; without the upgrade you’d have to do it on a post by post basis. Are you interested in this? -
Yes. I am putting in a recipe and when i hit the return it double spaces. I want single spacing for the recipe

Line spacing means the default distance between successive lines of a paragraph. What you’re asking about isn’t line spacing, it’s paragraph breaks (blank line) vs line breaks (new line without a paragraph break). In the Visual editor you get a paragraph break when you press return, a line break when you click shift-return.
