Format Being Destroyed

  I was on here a few days ago having problems with my format getting messed up everytime I would add something new to one of my pages. Someone told me to click on “close tabs” in the HTML section. I did and the problem seemed to go away. But then today it happened again.

  I have a specific format for this particular page where I’m constantly uploading new files, headers and paragraphs. Sometimes I’ll add a files or add a new paragraph and it will knock the entire page out of format into some uniform blob with everything changing sizes and fonts and colors.

  Is there anything I can do about this?

  Are you pasting from Word?

  Not any more. I was told that was a horrible thing to do. But I have posted some things from Word in the past. Any way to remedy those now?

  One thing I would suggest is to go to settings > writing and select “WordPress should correct invalidly nested XHTML automatically” then click “save changes at the bottom of the page. WordPress will then check the HTML in your posts and should correct anything that is incorrect.

  Typically when wordpress strips formatting, there is an issue with it. The page you reference though is 100% compliant with XHTML standards according to the W3C validator.

  The problem is that since we cannot see what you are adding before you click the “update page” button, it is a little difficult for us to tell where the problem might be.

  Are you hand-coding the HTML, or using the visual editor or what?

  Go to settings > writing and make the change I mentioned and give that a try.

  Also, what browser and browser version are you using?

  I just made the change. I don’t know much about computer language so I don’t know what a browser is.

  Also, do you know how I can put my pages in order on the sidebar? I’ve typed in “1” and “2” on the right side of the editing page but nothing happens.

  Are you using Internet Explorer or Firefox, or Opera, when you browse the internet, or perhaps Safari, or Flock?
