format of posts lost when emailed to subscribers

    The format in my posts is lost when a post is emailed to subscribers of my blog. Specifically, the line breaks that I put in my posts are lost and the post appears as one line. The posts appear correct on my blog. But this error occurs in the post that is emailed to subscribers. I’ve been posting daily for over a year and this problem did not start occurring until 2/11/14.

    Hey Jon,

    I’ve done a bit of testing on this. Here’s what I’ve turned up:

    • The email to followers should retain the line breaks within posts provided your Reading settings are set to deliver the “Full Text” instead of “Summary”. This setting can be found here:

      Currently, your site is set to deliver “Full Text” meaning line breaks should appear in post emails as shown here:

      http://d.pr/i/rgor

    • When you use the “Email” sharing option at the bottom of a post (http://d.pr/i/HCIh – hidden under “More”), a summary of the post is sent (not Full Text). In the summary of a post, line breaks are omitted.

    Does that make sense? Can you let me know if this is consistent with what you’re finding?
