format titles away from default and multiple posts on front page

  • Unknown's avatar

A long time ago I set my first page to have one post, the most recent, only.
I now want to change that so that the more than one post appears on the first page.

Also, Can I change the font formatting of a title?
    My blog is theroadsedge.wordpress.com

    Thanking you in advance

    Hi there!

To change the number of posts that display on your first page, you need to change the setting “Blog pages show at most” under Settings -> Reading from your site’s dashboard. Change the “1” to whatever number you choose and click “save changes” at the bottom of the page.

To change the fonts on your site, since you have the Custom Design upgrade as part of the WordPress Premium upgrade you can go to Appearance -> Customize from your dashboard. Once the Customizer loads, click “fonts” on the right hand menu and you can make adjustments and see what those changes will look like prior to saving the changes.

I hope that helps get you started! Let me know if you have any questions.

    Thank you!
New curiosity: I have 6 draft posts.
They each have one photo in the text and each is linked to a fb page.
Curiosity: One of the draft posts has an image icon next to it in the All Posts List Form. What does this mean? None of the others have it. Thanks!

Is this the icon that you were seeing?

That icon indicates that the post is using the Image post format. If you have a Standard post format, there won’t be an icon shown. Here’s more information on post formats that might be useful:

    I hope that clarifies things!

Thank you. I’m looking at the additional information link and it says to go to Post/Add New and then look for a Format module on the right. I don’t see anything that looks like Format and I don’t know what a module is.
    Guidance?
Thanks. (And I placed dummy text in new post)

My apologies! Since you’re using the Vigilance theme, which is one of our retired themes, it does not support post formats so those instructions won’t work! Sorry about that.

I talked to one of our developers and if you create a post without a title and just add an image and save it, it will auto-assign an image post format. But I was assured that your post will display the same as the standard posts do, so you don’t need to worry about changing it back.

Sorry again for giving you the wrong information – let me know if you have any other questions.
