Nope. I already tried that. I went back and edited the HTML, with the <p> thing, but I really do NOT want to do that with every post. I write LONG posts, fairly frequently, and that’s more trouble than I want to go to, to simply have a line between paragraphs.

I’ve actually tried both editors. I made sure to click the “paragraph” button. I wrote it, here, rather than copy-pasting. I have done everything I could find, and it still wants to post as a wall of text, unless I do the really annoying HTML thing.

This is a known issue and we are working on a fix as we speak.
Why are there two editors anyway? Kinda confusing and so many links to renavigate?
People use WordPress.com for a variety of reasons and come to the platform with a wide range of technical experience. To make sure WordPress.com is accessible to as many people as possible, we are creating an editor that makes it easy to use the core features of the site from any device anywhere in the world.
While the new editor includes the features used most often, we didn’t want to do away with features that are used less frequently, but are still important to some of our established users.
Having both editors available does add some complexity but it also means our users can choose to use the one that works for them.
