Formatting Entries

OK, am a total newbie so apologies!
Basically, when I publish an entry when my posts keep losing the paragraph spaces and it all ends up looking like a jumbled mess. If I then go back and edit the entries to put in paragraphs, the same happens, just in different places in the post.

I am slowly being driven mad. Someone help, please!

Ahh right, I’ve discovered my problem is pasting from word.
Trouble is, the things I’m posting are saved in word – and I don’t fancy retyping them all straight onto WP.

Is there some medium to cut and paste on to first?

Cut and paste your Word text into Notepad or some other plain text editor then cut and paste into the blog editor. Notepad will remove all of the odious Word code that is causing your problem. It’s and extra step but if you want to use Word it is a simple solution.

Perhaps you would save your Word document as a .txt file and paste that into the WordPress editor.

You may also want to try using the regular text editor as well on the wordpress side as the rich text editor likes converting tags. You can switch between the editors at Dashboard -> Users -> Your Profile -> Uncheck the box near the top and click on the Save Changes button.

    Hope that helps,
