Formatting Featured Image

    I am having trouble with my featured image. When I look at it on the screen it is not balanced to the right hand side and there is a piece of space directly to the right that looks like a grid where part of the image should be viewed. This butts right up against my column to the right with my widgets. What am I doing wrong and what do I need to do to format this correctly? Thank you for your time.

    Featured images work best with images that are least 1038 wide.

    Every theme with featured images has specific dimensions for those featured images and if you do not upload the correct size this is the result.
