Formatting frustrations…
-
I’m having endless problems trying to get my post formatting to “stick” when I save the posts. The biggest issue is when I paste in info from somewhere else – sometimes I can’t get the formatting removed without going into the HTML to do so, and other times it’ll remove whatever changes I’ve made and revert it back to the original formatting (weird eh!?). If I indent a passage and then Save the draft, it’ll have unindented it and on top of that split the passage into 2 parts and probably also changed the formatting (e.g. colour) on top of that. This happens both in IE8 and Firefox and it’s got me to almost tearing my hair out. I’m actually debating moving my blog to my own server to provide me with the possibility of improving on the current standard editor as I think it has a lot to do with the difficulties at times. I can’t change the paragraph settings nor the font which drives me nuts as again, if I’ve pasted in something with a font I’d actually like to keep, I can’t as I can’t change the rest of the post to look the same, but instead have to do it the other way round and remove the formatting.
But I’m just keen to see if there’s a cause for this issue when I save the post and whether that can be overcome for the moment???
Appreciate any suggestions/input.

If you are having a lot of trouble changing the formatting of text inside the WordPress editor, I would suggest writing it in a different editor, such as OpenOffice (free) or Word (paid).

I don’t know about OpenOffice, but Word does not speak web and you will open yourself to all sorts of problems and mess. Not a good idea.
Try an off-line blog editor such as: Ecto, Windows Live Writer, or Blog Desk
