Formatting has gone! posts are wide and sidebar is at the bottom!

    Dear Admins and fellow bloggers,

My blog – waeshael.wordpress.com has completely changed!

I’ve returned to it after a few months of neglect (university studying) and found that the formatting is all wrong!

The sidebar isnt at the side and all the texts in 90% of my posts are too wide etc.

Please could you advise me on how to resolve the issue!

    Best regards,

    Waeshael

I’d also like to add that it the formatting returns to normal when “view older entries” is clicked, im so confused!

This means that somewhere in one of your posts, you have some invalid html code, likely an open div tag.

Go to Settings > Writing and click the box that says to have wp automatically correct invalidly nested xhtml

Go into each of the posts, one at a time, starting with the most recent, and make an insignificant edit — for example, making a space at the end of the final paragraph — and then “update” the post. View your blog & refresh it. Repeat this with each post until the invalid xhtml is corrected.

    You are a genius!

I did exactly as you said (only had to do the first couple of posts) and it returned to normal.

Many thanks for the help and swift response!!!

You’re welcome! Glad that fixed it for you!

If you return then please make sure this setting is enabled
Settings > Writing and select “ ___ WordPress should correct invalidly nested XHTML automatically” and then scroll down and click “Save Changes.”

    ~~tt

I’m pretty sure that’s what the poster did, following the instructions, so it should stick for the future, I’d think. (I’d hope he/she would not then uncheck it. :))
