Formatting my RSS Feed
-
Hi, I am trying to either alter my code or add a plugin to pull in my featured images to my RSS feed. I’ve found many tutorials online but none of them work for me because I am missing things in my admin console. I am unable to edit or add plugins and I am unable to alter my php code. I am the sole user of my blog so I don’t believe that it is an access issue. I’m stumped.
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Images files are media files and they are included in the RSS feed https://goodygal.wordpress.com/feed/

. I am unable to edit or add plugins and I am unable to alter my php code.
That’s correct. There is no FTP access and no blogger installed plugin capability of wordpress.COM hosted sites and we cannot edit the php or HTML underlying our sites. What you are reading applies only to WordPress.ORG installs.
Does Customize let me edit HTML?
No. Customize allows you to edit fonts, colors, and CSS only. You can change the appearance of a theme, but not its HTML markup or PHP code. If you require this functionality, please consider moving your blog to a web host that supports theme code modifications. You can read more about why here http://support.wordpress.com/code/, and find a suitable host here http://get.wp.com/hosting/.WordPress.COM is a multi user blogging platform with off the shelf themes and it’s aimed for use by those who do not code. Each theme is uniquely designed. We wordpress.com bloggers do not have access to the template files underlying our themes and we cannot edit them, as our blogs share a common architecture, and as all blogs wearing the same theme use the same underlying template, found on the live demo site for each theme.
WordPress.COM and WordPress.ORG are completely separate and have different username accounts, logins, features, run different versions of some themes with the same names, and have separate support documentation and separate support forums. Read the differences here http://en.support.wordpress.com/com-vs-org/

I should have been more specific. My images are featured in large format on the blog so when they pull into the feed they are not sized appropriately. I am unable to access the code on my blog to add the image size specifics needed to pull the proper size into the feed..

If you want that type of capability you need to hire a web host and set up a wordpress.ORG software install. See: Moving to self hosted wordpress https://move.wordpress.com

You’re welcome and best wishes.
May I also add that featured image sizes vary from theme to theme. And that themes cannot to transferred between WordPress.COM and WordPress.ORG sites.
