Formatting Pages

  I’ve been able to select my theme template but I’m finding it difficult to format the actual pages. Presently I have black print on black background. Not very good. Also, I want to format the font, column size. How do I format the pages and postings? Can anyone help me with this. And please don’t write to me as if I’m an idiot – I’m new to WordPress so give me a break, please. Thank you.

  It appears you’re using the free version. While you can tweak with the background color on a free hosted site, to do some of the things you want to do you’ll need the Custom Design Upgrade: http://en.support.wordpress.com/custom-design/ Check out that link, there’s a lot of great support docs explaining what a beginner can do easily and what might require more of an expert touch.
