Formatting sidebar titles with links (Twitter, RSS widgets)
-
I am having trouble with the formatting of the titles for Twitter and RSS widgets. Since the titles of these two items are also links they are being formatted as such, making them almost invisible on the background. Is there a way to force these to use the standard sidebar header format?
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Make the change in your CSS as shown below
h2, h2 a, h2 a:visited, h3, h3 a, h3 a:visited { color:white; } -
Unfortunately, that doesn’t seem to work. If I do that it makes all the links in the body (i.e. post titles) white and they are on a white background. Is there some way to define the sidebar titles as a separate entity?

OK, my bad. First a question though. You have pasted the entire stylesheet into your CSS edit box. Do you have “start from scratch and… ” selected or “add to existing…” ? If the latter, you need to change it because the stylesheets are fighting each other.
h2, h2 a, h2 a:hover, h2 a:visited, h3, h3 a, h3 a:hover, h3 a:visited, #sidebar h2, #wp-calendar caption, cite { color:white; } -
Aargh, I hit post somehow before finishing. Add color:white; to the following so it looks like this
h2,h2 a,h2 a:hover,h2 a:visited,h3,h3 a,h3 a:hover,h3 a:visited,#sidebar h2,#wp-calendar caption,cite { text-decoration:none; color:white; } -
Thanks for the reply. After what you suggested first I started playing around with the CSS and attempted what you just suggested, but I get the same results. I did have the CSS set to “add” vs “start from scratch,” but that doesn’t help either.
For the hell of it I removed the custom CSS and the default contempt theme seems to have the same issue. Do you think there is anyway to get around this?
Thanks for all the help.

I’m at a loss. I’ve tried everything I can. Devblog is probably the only one that could sort this out.
Even with the stock CSS though it is messed up. I contacted staff and we will see if they can fix it. Just site tight for a day or so and I’ll post back here if I hear back from them.

@devblog, you can look at my test blog, http://flippintestblog.wordpress.com/ , to see the issue with the titles on the RSS and Twitter widgets if you wish.

That works in the preview, but not on the live page. I assume the links are now being trumped by the visited link attribute. Anyway to fool that as well?

just add
.widgettitle a:visitedto your definition. It should look like this:
.widgettitle a, .widgettitle a:visited { color: #fff; } -
