Formatting Text

    I like to include my poetry. However, I have a very difficult time creating the look and style of writing I want with WordPress. I have difficultly consistently single spacing the lines and then providing breaks if I’m doing poems with stanzas. Is there something that I’m missing? I typically write in MSWord and than attempt to Cut and Paste, but it never comes out the way I want to format it. It takes me an inordinate amount of time to do something that should be relatively quick and simple.

    Please do NOT do that. Word will screw up your blog in ways you cannot imagine over the long run.

    Blogging software does not make it easy to format things, it’s true, but single spacing IS easy: you just hold the shift key down when you hit Enter and you get a single space. If you don’t hold it down, you get a double space.

    If you want more advanced formatting than that, you either want to learn HTML code or you want to use an offline editor like Blogdesk or Windows Live Writer, which preserve the spaces you type in like Word does, but don’t add all that nasty invisible code that it does.
