Forum Functionality

  I am a new user to wordpress.com and looking at the features available I see no forum functionality.

  It would be very nice if WordPress includes free forum functionality to their wordpress.com sites. Right now I need to use an external forum service and link it to my site.

  Please consider.

  At present there are no chatboxes or forums I am aware of that can be used on free hosted WordPress.com blogs. There is no FTP access and we cannot install plugins.

  One approach is to register a forum on the internet and then create a custom menu in your blog and include a custom link to the forum in it.

  That’s exactly what I’m going to do. I’ll use Google Groups and then put this functionality on my menu until WordPress puts this functionality.
