Forum On Blog
-
I was simply wondering if it was possible to have a forum on the blog. I was going to use BBPress, but I’m not yet sure if you are capable of adding one.
If you are, can you please tell me how.
P.S.Sorry if this topic was already made. -

Hi Vinny765!
You can start a forum, and leave the link in your site, maybe as blogroll.
I have one at http://scopeland.forumotion.com/ but I seldom do it up since I am quite busy; so I don’t even try put it in blogroll.I don’t think forum functions or codes will be suitable for blog…

Yes, you can always link to one. You can integrate a forum if you have an independent WP install, but here all you can do is set it up externally and link it, either in a text widget or in the blogroll.

Hi Raincoaster!
Nowadays, I have to be honest… I am wondering why do we need forums when people can chat via blog comments. I mean, maybe they need to have freedom to set a topic, but otherwise, if one can ‘search’ in a blog, anyone can start an issue anywhere in the blog for others to chat on.
Ciao, and cheers~

Well, I would hate this forum to switch to a blog, and if Automattic thought it would work better as a blog, they’d have switched it long ago. Blogs are best for personality-driven conversations. Forums are better for topic-driven ones.
