Forum Post Subscriptions
-
I have a suggestion or request for a quality-of-life change to forum functions.
On the post-subscription page, I would like there to be an option to select and modify/delete multiple items at once.
Currently, I have to click delete on each individual thread subscription. Doing this causes the page to reload after each deletion.
I am making sure to uncheck the ‘Notify me of new replies’ button now when I post a reply, but I still have a large backlog to deal with.

At 20 threads per page, I have 180 posts that I am subscribed to. I’d like to see a ‘Select All’ function possibly. Whatever you determine to be appropriate.

Hi @parkdanil Thanks for making this feature request. +1
Keep in mind that any thread whose final reply is older than about a month is automatically closed by the forum software. Unless a staff member updates a closed thread, you won’t receive an email notification on those threads even if you are subscribed.

@justjennifer Yeah, this might just be my OCD kicking in. I want to clear the list of old threads. I’m addicted to clean and uncluttered desktops.

@parkdanil If you haven’t found a way to do this in the meantime, I think this might work.
On the last page of your subscriptions, start at the bottom of the page and open each forum thread you’ve subscribed to in its own tab, say 10 at a time. In each open tab, unsubscribe from the thread by clicking on the bell next to the first post in the thread. Do that for each of the open tabs.
When you are done, manually refresh your Subscriptions page and you should see that those forum threads are no longer listed. You can then close the open tabs and open the next set of forum threads and do the same until all the threads you no longer want to be subscribed to have been removed.
This might be a bit involved, but I think it’s less painful than clicking the X next to each individual forum thread and waiting until the page refreshes back to the first page.
Give it a try and let me know how it goes.

@justjennifer Thanks! I tried this and it is much easier than what I had been doing.
I’ll spend the next few days clearing my list in batches so I don’t get burned out.
