Forum widget?

  I’m putting together a WordPress site that would probably be better served using a forum format. Can anyone recommend widget, plugin, etc. that would provide this format for part of the website? I’m not using WP software, just the (free) online version. Many thanks!

  There’s no widget that provides this functionality and we cannot install plugins on wordpress.com blogs.

  The P2 theme gives similar functionality to a forum, but from the feedback I’ve read in other threads it’s not that great. You can check it out here: http://en.wordpress.com/themes/p2/
