Hello,
Could you please tell me how I create a url that directs people to a particular part of the website, eg. http://www.333arts.net/mediarelease to direct them directly to a media release.
Thank you.

Hi Michael, When you publish a Page or a Post, a URL is immediately created. If you create a Page called “Media Release,” then you will have created this URL:
http://www.333arts.net/Media-Release
That link can be used anywhere online to direct readers to that Page.
You can also upload a PDF of a media release. Once it’s in your Media Gallery, you can use its Permalink as a URL for visitors to view the document.
I hope this helps. If you want to use this link in a different manner, please let me know your specific needs and I can be of assistance. Thanks!

Hello,
Thank you.
What’s the difference between a Page and a Post?
I don’t understand this bit of your answer: “Once it’s in your Media Gallery, you can use its Permalink as a URL for visitors to view the document”.
When something is put into the Media Gallery does it automatically have a Permalink? Where, what is the Permalink?
In your answer, praps you could include “For example …” (giving a practical, real-life example.)
Thank you.

Hi Michael,
Take a peek at the link below. It describes the difference between a Page and a Post and how you can make the best use of them both:
When something is put into the Media Gallery does it automatically have a Permalink? Where, what is the Permalink?
Exactly. Everytime you load a media file (image, video, sound, pdf) into your Media Library, it is given a Permalink and a File URL.
For example, this is one of your site’s Permalinks:
And this is the File URL of the same image:
One appears embedded into your website, the other appears on a blank page.
You can use either type of link to guide your readers to view an uploaded file.
I think the following guide will help you. It is designed to assist new users in gaining knowledge about how to use their WordPress.com site:

I hope this helps! Let me know if you have other questions. Thanks much.
