forwarded email

    An email address that was previously forwarded by WordPress to another account is now being hosted by another email hosting provider. I removed the email from WordPress. However, email sent to that address don’t go through. The forward is somehow still attached to that email and they are returned as undeliverable. How can I remove the forwarding code from this email? Or does it simply take time (I only removed the forwarding setting within the past hour.)
