Forwarding domain name to SquareSpace – help?

    Hello there~

    I noticed that a few other people had inquired about this – and it looks like they needed help, too. I’m trying to forward my solandheart.com domain name to SquareSpace – and got about halfway through following the domain mapping instructions and noticed there’s no forwarding option on the DNS manager.

    Is there any way you can help me with this? I only want to do this with solandheart.com and plan to leave my other blog here at WordPress.

    Hi there,

    The best way to manage your domain when you’re mapping it to a site like Squarespace is to transfer it to another registrar. Our domain manager doesn’t include domain forwarding, but other registrars may be able to provide more options. We have a guide for transferring your domain here: Transfer a Domain to Another Registrar

    However, I went ahead and made the change to map your domain to Squarespace from our end, so you can keep your domain registered here at WordPress.com if you’d like. Please note that it may take 48-72 for this change to take effect everywhere.

    Hi Rachel,

    Thank you so much for your help with this. After trying to figure this out on the side of SquareSpace, I’m still running into trouble.

    Since I still have the solandheart.com domain name purchased, is there any way you can help me re-direct it back to WordPress, as it was before? I cannot figure out how to link them, and I’d rather keep both sites – instead of having nothing when people click on this link.

    Sorry to be a pain, but is there any way you can help me re-direct the domain name back to my WordPress blog here, please?

    Hi Solveig, it’s not an inconvenience at all. I just switched your domain so it’s pointing to your WordPress.com blog again. It can take 48-72 for this change to take effect everywhere, so don’t worry if you don’t see your blog right away when you visit your domain.

    Hi Rachel,

    I have noticed that you have been helping a few people map their domains to Square Space. I too have the same problem. I want to leave my domain with WordPress but redirect it to Squarespace.

    Hi canberralab,

    If you’d like, you can transfer your domain to another domain registrar that will let you map your domain using the instructions from Squarespace. We recommend doing that for the most control over your domain mapping.

    However, I went ahead and mapped your domain canberralab.com to Squarespace for you, so you’re all set if you’d like to keep your domain registered here at WordPress.com. Please note it can take up to 72 hours for this change to take full effect.
