forwarding domain to a different site

  Hi – We had someone create us a custom worpress.org blog that is hosted elsewhere and it has a new name (powtownrollerderby.com)

  I have pointed the nameservers to the new host but it isn’t forwarding. How do I make my powtownderby.com address forward to powtownrollerderby.com

  I should mention that we got the domain name through wordpress.com

  OK – my original post made no sense. I will try and explain it better

  -We originally had a free wordpress.com site
  -Then we upgraded and purchased powtownderby.com through wordpress to be used with our current blog

  -Then we created a whole new wordpress.org site hosted elsewhere with a new domain name powtownrollerderby.com

  -Our old marketing material still has powtownderby.com – so we need people to be able to type it in and be redirected to the new site.

  -I changed the nameservers on wordpress.com control panel to point to our host. But now our powtownderby.com site isn’t showing up anything and it isn’t redirecting

  There are two ways to go about this:

  1. Change the name servers to direct to your hosting provider (which you have done), then set the redirect on your hosting provider’s end. You may need to ask them for help with that.

  2. Change the name servers back to us and purchase a Site Redirect upgrade (an additional $13) on the blog with the domain record.
