Forwarding of feedback to my email
-
Hi,
I’m unable to get the feedback form to forward the messages to my email, and often discover too late when someone messages me through the contact (feedback) form on my blog.
Your support threads about the issue appear out dated and incorrect. For example this one: “What if emails are not getting through?” (http://en.support.wordpress.com/email-notifications/#what-if-the-emails-are-not-getting-through) says to “Check the Settings -> Discussion page to make sure email notifications are turned on”, but there is no such option under the discussion settings.
I do get email notifications when people comment on my blog, just not when the message me via the feedback form.
I hope you can help, because I feel rude for not replying to people’s messages via my contact form or replying months after (I don’t receive messages often, so don’t have a checking routine).
Thanks in advance.
Anna

By the way, why does this forum post display my login-name instead of my public user name – Mados, which is what I have elected in the profile settings to display publicly.

Hi Anna – By default, the contact form sends feedback to the email address that’s on file for your user account:
https://wordpress.com/settings/account/Is that the email you’re checking? Could you please check your junk/spam folder to make sure the feedback emails aren’t going in there?
We show usernames rather than display names in the forums because in the past, we’ve had some problems with spoofing (since you can switch your display name and Gravatar to impersonate someone else). It’s something we’ve discussed changing, though, so I’ll pass your feedback on it along. :)
