Fourth request for help! Getting no replies from Support.
-
Hi,
I have written WP four times about this and have not received a reply. I find that unusual since you have always answered me before in a timely manner.
My question:
I bought a domain name from WP many years ago. http://www.lisavproulx.com
I used it on WIX and recently decided to switch it back over to WP.
Alex from WP, sent me detailed instructions on how to do this. I followed the instructions and completed it.
In Domain Settings, I am asked if I want to make lisavproulx.com my primary. Do I hit yes?
Also, I wanted to make sure when I cancel my plan with WIX, my domain is still intact with WP.
Another thing, why is my address on top not reflecting http://www.lisavproulx.com? How can I change this?
I am trying to make this my main website.
Thank you for your time and help and please keep in mind, I am not tech savvy at all. :)
Lisa

Hit YES! That will make lisavproulx.com your primary website name.
Then this problem will be solved:Another thing, why is my address on top not reflecting http://www.lisavproulx.com? How can I change this?
– best,

Thank you for your quick reply. When I hit YES, it said:
The primary domain for this site is currently lisavproulxinspirationalspeaker.wordpress.com. If you update the primary domain, all other domains will redirect to lisavproulx.com.
I have other sites with WP, will they be directed there too? They each have their own domain and I would like to keep it that way.
Thank you! :)

Hi @lisavproulx, this setting only applies to the one site and its domains. Since you only have lisavproulxinspirationalspeaker.wordpress.com and lisavproulx.com on this site, you’re just picking one of those to be the primary domain for that site.
Since your other domains are on other sites here, they won’t be affected.
About support, we offer direct support for users with upgraded plans. You can also reach out to the community way you have this time, but you’ll want to avoid filing multiple requests for a single issue, and also avoid “bumping” tickets or threads with extra replies since that bogs response times down.
Thank you @yoga1103 for your help here and for getting staff attention on this thread :) I’ll go ahead and close out the duplicates. Cheers, all :)
