Fraudulent websites powered by WordPress

This seems to be a trending issue since so many people are working and shopping from home these days. Recently (3-21-20) I purchased some weights at a price that was too good to be true(it was), I received an order confirmation from “Luanzi”(not the retailer) letting me know they’d inform me when my order shipped, and I thought all was well. After a few days, I got suspicious and checked the website, and realized many of the features didn’t work. I then contacted them via the emails provided and by responding to my order confirmation(all yahoo accounts… big red flags), and still haven’t heard any replies. Today I checked the email and followed the link only to find that the link took me to an identical website with a different domain. That’s what brings me here. I discovered it was ‘powered by WordPress’ and thought this might be an avenue to get this closed down. The current address is http://yanble.com. I honestly don’t remember the exact domain of the previous one, but it had something to do with music. I was lead to this by ads from Facebook, by the way. Please rectify this and make sure no more people get taken advantage of by whoever this is!
    Thanks!

  • Thanks for getting in touch. Unfortunately, we won’t be much help because we are not hosting that site.

It’s actually set up on the open source WordPress.org software, which is the other version of WordPress. Help for that comes from https://wordpress.org/support/forums/

If you have not cancelled the charge through your bank you can do that.

If you continue to see the ad through FB there should be an option to report it to their team as well.
