  How can I launch my blog? I have seen the invite to set my blog FREE, but the site keeps asking to join a payment plan!

  Hi, you should have an option to skip the paid domain. Can you find that? You’d also be welcome to simply set the site to public here:
  https://wordpress.com/settings
