I opted for a ‘free’ account but am being asked to pay a $13 recurring charge. What’s up?

Hi @organicplantarian, do you have another account? I don’t see any upgrades on this one. The charge will tell the associated domain, and if you’ll send that we’ll try to find it in our system.

Thanks for your response. I looked into it and it seems the $13 charge is for “mapping”. I understand now.
I think the reason you didn’t see upgrades for me is because I stopped short of paying the $13, so I didn’t complete the process.
I just wanted to check it out before buying. I may go ahead but I may not. It’s one thing to pay $13. It’s another to have to remember to go through canceling a recurring charge and then check again a year later to be sure you canceled it properly.
But I do appreciate you responding to me. I think it speaks well for WordPress. Thank you.

Does it mention a domain name when it says it was for mapping? If you’ll tell us what that is we can find it and properly refund you.
It is likely under another account.
Or, use the secure form at wpchrg.com so we can locate the charge.

You are wonderful! I stopped short of paying the $13 so there is nothing to refund. I’ve decided to work with a webmaster who will be doing my website, but we are going to use wordpress. Thank you for your kind attention. After my webmaster has done the main work he’s going to turn the day to day over to me. I’m encouraged by your help. Thank you again. Gil

Ah, I understood you were being charged again (as in one year later).
I understand now this was more of a pre-sales question. We have recurring charges that renew each year: that keeps your plan up and going. And paid plans help us to be able to offer this service.
