Free account vs paid account

  I’m not a Techie….HELP.

  I already have a domain, and I have a server to host the site on. Do I just sign up as a free site for now (with the .wordpress.com) and then have an option to move that site over to my server, or do I have to upgrade to the Premium account to do that?

  The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

  Plus, can I add plug ins for the free account.

  You have a few options. Since you already have the domain and server, it might be best to set up WordPress on that server. (Download and instructions are at WordPress.org)

  You can set up a site here at WordPress.com, but to use your domain name, you will have to pay to have it mapped. If you set up the site here, it can be moved over to your self-hosted install in the future, but, as mentioned, it might be best just to set it up to start with right on your own server.

  You cannot use plugins (for security reasons) on the free or paid plans here at WordPress.com.
