Free Active Site

    I was informed via email that I could maintain this blog site with WordPress without payments. I would have limitations without monthly blog site payment plan
    Is this correct?

    Hi there,

    Yes you are welcome to have a free site on WordPress.com and many site owners do just that, and are happy without paying for upgrades.

    To clarify though, there are a few limitations of our “free” sites which you avoid by upgrading to the Personal plan:

    • Ads – we show ads on free sites to help pay for our hosting services. Sites with upgrades do not show these ads
    • Limited storage space – free sites have only 3GB of space to store images and documents you upload. On the Personal plan this space is doubled
    • “wordpress.com” URLs – free sites must use our “wordpress.com” URL but with the personal plan you can switch to a custom site address if you wish
    • Support – free sites receive support here in our public forums. You can use those too, but also have the option of priority email support at https://wordpress.com/help/contact
