free blog

Hi there, I’ve now taken down my paid site. I’d like to confirm that

    – the fee will not be renewed
    – my site blueskiesmusic.com is definitely not live, and I will not be charged to renew the site domain

and I’d also like to start a blog, but I would like to use the free site option. Please could you talk me through how to do this? i’ve had a look around and cannot find how to build a new website without upgrading to a paid plan

    thanks very much
    Sonia

    Hello,

If you canceled your recurring payments for the plan and the domain on the purchases page,
you will not be charged for renewal. If you did all that and still have a problem (if you are being charged again), please add the tag ‘modlock’ so the team member can address the issue.

If you want to use additional free website on your account, under the My Sites https://prnt.sc/m89pjv
click on ‘Add new site’ https://prnt.sc/m89pqq , set up your website information, and when you get to the checkout, simply leave the page and you will have a new free website with the WordPress subdomain ‘example.wordpress.com’

    I hope this helps.

Domain: Your domain doesn’t appear to be registered with WordPressdotcom so please check with your domain registrar to ensure that you have cancelled the domain renewal with them.

Fee: If you had a paid upgrade plan and cancelled it, you will see this in your Manage Purchases dashboard, as @skipiczeljko mentioned.

Your current site at blueskiesmusic.wordpress.com is using a static front page. If you would like to add a blog page to that same site, first publish an empty new page (Journal, News or whatever you like) and then go to the Customizer. In the Customizer under Homepage Settings>Your homepage displays you’ll leave the current static page. Under Posts page you’ll select the page you published to be your blog page. Save/Publish your settings. Now when you publish new blog posts, they will appear under the page you selected.

I hope that is clear, but let us know if you have any other question about this.
