  Where can I find simple instructions for setting up a free wordpress.com site, that don’t direct me to paid features or wordpress.org?

  Hello, @lilydscreenstudies!

  The Get Started guide in the WordPress support docs is a great place to start! Once you’ve got the basic info and have a chance to play around, check out the rest of the support docs or c’mon back to the forums with any questions you have about the specifics. There are lots of eager volunteers like me who can help.

  My personal advice is that, especially if you’re new to blogging or website building, just play around with stuff and learn about the process and how everything works. It doesn’t have to be perfect, and the only one who knows “what’s wrong” is you! :)
