  What are ALL of the DRAWBACKS to having a free online blog on WordPress? For now, I understand that a big ad, a lack of adding hyperlinks… What else?

  I don’t find any drawbacks with having a free site. I accept that WordPress.com displaying ads helps keep my free site free. You can see the extra features with the plans here: https://wordpress.com/pricing/ If you’re going to upgrade then now would be a good time whilst there is a discounted offer in place.

  Thank you. I got an error message when originally testing the links I added to my free plan. I will go over these instructions in more detail. *crosses fingers*
