Free Blog – Google Ad is coming – Am i hacked?

  Hi,

  I am having free blog in wordpress. From last few days, in my blog post pages, sometime google ads are coming. The publisher id is “3443918307802676”.

  I tried to update the theme but in any theme ad is coming in post pages.

  I dont want it to show. Am i hacked or is it of wordpress?

  Any one guide me?

  WordPress.com occasionally shows ads on the blogs here to help pay for the services they provide to us. They started this back in 2006.

  Hi,

  Thanks for the details. If its official then its fine. But due to this my actual ad code is not coming.

  When i put my google ad code in text widget, nothing shows up. WordPress does not allow personal ad code in free blog or is it due to theme i m using?

  User advertising is, except for a couple very narrow exceptions, not allowed on wordpress.COM. For the exceptions, see the last sentence under “Affiliate marketing blogs” in the bottom set of bullet points in the “types of blogs” link below.

  If you do require an ecommerce site, advertising and/or affiliate links on your blog which are not allowed on wordpress.COM free hosted blogs, then there is an alternative. You can hire a web host and get a free software install from http://wordpress.org and self host your blog. Refer to > http://support.wordpress.com/com-vs-org/

  I am using the Ad Control program on my personal blog to test it, so go see what it looks like. Other than that, user-initiated ads are not allowed here and in my opinion seriously detract from the professionalism of a business blog.
